Shared Table: A celebration of handmade ceramics & our collective love for wholesome good food

Have you ever stepped into a space and you immediately felt like home? Well that's exactly the feeling to expect when you step into Nelson St dining. Think high ceilings, exposed rafters, natural light streaming in through skylights and textured 'wedding cake' walls, very typical of the older buildings around Freo. The space oozed with character and objects collected from all over the world that practically begged for their stories to be shared.

When the idea of our collaboration first sparked, we couldn't contain our excitement and had beautiful visions of the space transformed into an un-suspecting yet bustling shop full of treasures and trinkets made by us and our friends. From there, Shared Table was born, a collaboration between Nelson St, Do° Pottery, Kaki Studio and us, to celebrate our collective love for handmade ceramics and good, wholesome food.

Shared Table was a special, one-weekend only event located just off South Terrace in South Fremantle, WA. To kick things off, we hosted an intimate opening night to celebrate. The keenest of our community were treated to fresh homemade flat breads and preserves made by Nelson St Dining & the most delicious wine provided by The Vine Collective was shared. The sound of laughter and Jazz was in the air as people browsed and took home their latest ceramic pieces.

Friday night had ended but the weekend ahead was just as wholesome and fulfilling in many many ways. Fremantle was bustling, Artwalk Freo had also started that very same weekend and Nelson St Dining prepared more delicious goodies to sell. Salted chocolate tahini cookies, a heartwarming rice bowl with Dhal served with their homemade condiments & more were available to our shoppers throughout the whole weekend and was enjoyed under dappled light and crispy air outside in the courtyard.

The community support was immense and we couldn't help but to smile and laugh all weekend with faces both familiar and new, we talked about all the things we collectively love, from handmade ceramics, to food, simply living, being a creative and what all of that intertwined looked and felt like. It reminded us that no matter how heavy the world may sometimes appear, there are many little pockets of light that you can step into and bask in, better enjoyed together, with good food and perhaps a handmade ceramic cup, filled with your favourite tea in hand.

We hope you enjoyed our little reflection of Shared Table and look forward to seeing you at our next event or collaboration.
